NAMIBIA YOUTH CREDIT SCHEME
Namibia Youth Credit Scheme (NYCS) is a loan guarantee programme that provides financial support to unemployed and out of school youth (beneficiaries) who do not have adequate collateral to access loans from the mainstream banking system.

The Scheme aims to empower youth with entrepreneurship opportunities by offering training in Basic Business Management, Access to Credit, Follow-up training, Counselling and Mentoring to beneficiaries between 18 to 35. The programme operates through an individual and group lending system, respectively, in phases.

Namibia Youth Credit Scheme (NYCS) provides loans in four phases:
Start - Up Loan
  • Phase One: N$ 1 000 - N$ 5 000
Business Expansion Loan
  • Phase Two: N$ 5 000 - N$ 8 000
  • Phase Three: N$ 8 000 - N$ 10 000
Business Expansion Loan
  • Phase Four: N$ 10 000 - N$ 100 000
